Met Dept forecasts high temperatures for another week

The prevailing high temperatures would continue for another week, the Met Department announced yesterday.The Department said that the south-western monsoon would become active between 20 and 25 May.
The highest temperature reported on Thursday was from Mullaitivu (37.3 degrees.) The Colombo city recorded a temperature of 36 degrees.
The Met Department said that temperature had reached a high level in Northern, North Central, North Western and Eastern provinces, and Hambantota and Moneragala districts.
