It has been proposed to issue revenue licenses on a concessional basis to old vehicles that have been parked unused for many years without obtaining the revenue license, Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) Commissioner General Nishantha Anuruddha Weerasinghe said.

He said a number of vehicles have been left unused due to having to pay a large fine for re-registration.
Therefore, it has been proposed to grant relief to renew their registrations.

The Commissioner General further said that the proposal in this regard would be presented to the Cabinet for approval. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
