Colombo, Dec 27 (Daily Mirror) – An accomplice of underworld figure Heenatiyana Mahesh, who reportedly was plotting a murder, was arrested by the Katunayake Police following a raid as part of the ‘Yukthiya’ operation.

When police arrested the suspect, he was in possession of a 9mm-type pistol and several rounds of live ammunition.

After further questioning by the police, it was revealed that he was an accomplice of Heenatiyana Mahesh and had undertaken a contract to carry out the murders of two businessmen.

The raid was conducted under the direction of Acting IGP Deshabandhu Tennkoon and the supervision of Negombo SSP Anuruddha Bandaranaike.
