Dr. Senthilverl exits Alumex sealing 6% stake for Rs. 408 m

High net worth investors including Rayynor Silva, Aravinda de Silva and Ajith Devasurendra pick up quantities

High net worth but low profile investor Dr. T. Senthilverl yesterday exited from Alumex PLC divesting his 6% stake for Rs. 408 million.

Buyers included people of equal calibre Rayynor Silva, Aravinda de Silva and Ajith Devasurendra.

As at 30 September 2024, Dr. Senthilverl held 6% stake in Alumex, controlling shareholder of which is Hayleys Group (57%) whilst Akbar Brothers holds 13.4%.

Alumex saw 37.58 million shares traded for Rs. 476 million. Of that 32.4 million shares were done at Rs. 12.60 each via 10 crossings. The share price closed at Rs. 13.10, down by 10 cents from its previous close.

Last week Dr. Senthilverl sold around 7 million shares of Alumex at Rs. 13 each. Buyers included a few high net worth investors.

Dr. Senthilverl has been hyper active since last week, upping his stake in Agarapatana Plantations to over 10% and picking up 5% stake in Kotagala Plantations last week whilst he exited from his 10% stake in Asia Asset Finance this week.
