Colombo, February 3 (Daily Mirror) – Sri Lankan industrialist and businessman Don Harold Stassen Jayawardena, popularly known as Harry Jayawardena, has passed away at the age of 82.

Jayawardena was the chairman of Melstacorp PLC and also served as the Honorary Consul General for Denmark in Sri Lanka.

Recognized as one of the richest individuals in Sri Lanka by Forbes, he was a key figure in the country’s corporate landscape.

He also held the position of chairman at both the Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka and Aitken Spence—two of the first Sri Lankan companies to be listed on Forbes’ list of best-managed companies outside the USA.
