By Rathindra Kuruwita
President Ranil Wickremesinghe and the representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will today (26) discuss the progress Sri Lanka has made on its reform programme.
This is the final discussion IMF representatives, who are here to review the loan before approving its second tranche, will hold in Sri Lanka.
The IMF team arrived on 14 September.
The Finance Ministry said that the IMF team also looked at stabilizing the economy.
Following the review, the two sides will sign an agreement on the second tranche.
The country received USD 330 million in March, as the first tranche of the 2.9 billion dollar loan.
