The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has received permission from the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) to increase electricity tariffs from today (20).

The approved tariff is effective from October 20, 2023 to June 30, 2024.

The PUCSL has given their approval on an 18 percent increase in electricity tariffs.

This decision comes after a thorough review of all the facts gathered during the public consultation. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
