Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera has suspended the 25% salary increase granted to CEB employees once in every three years with immediate effect.

Minister Wijesekera has issued the directive in this regard in a directive dated Dec 15, 2023 addressed to the Chairman, General Manager, Directors of CEB Board and Deputy GM, Finance.

The Minister has directed that no allowances and bonuses be paid to CEB employees for 2023 or for any other years they were not paid.

This directive pertained to all incentives and allowances paid earlier, the Minister stated, while requesting for the amounts paid by the CEB in 2023 as incentives and allowances and the vehicles assigned to officials
