Janakan Srikhanta

Tharman is a fourth-generation Singaporean of Sri Lankan Tamil ancestry from the 19th century. Tharman is the son of Emeritus Professor K. Shanmugaratnam, a medical scientist known as “the father of pathology in Singapore,” who founded the Singapore Cancer Registry.
He holds a BSc in Economics from LSE, a Master in Economics from Cambridge and a Master in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government from Harvard University.
